This Ted Talk is one of the best I’ve heard. Please spend 18 minutes listening and apply it to whatever part of life you’re in whether you’re in the education field or the corporate world. Apply what you learn here, share it with influencers in your life. I believe it will make such a difference in our society as a whole.
These are great tools for organizing – well – anything! No matter what you do, you can probably find they will help you with brainstorming, planning, organizing, executing projects. And, you can include others if you have a team. Check them out for yourselves. They also have many youtube videos to show you how they work.

Again, I’ve learned so much new information, it will take weeks to assimilate. Thank you to HACWN (Heart of America Christian Writer’s Network) and SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) for great conferences! The picture of me with the map I drew & painted is at the SCBWI conference. The ones with Troy Griepentrog (Focus on the Family) and Lana Sutherland (kindred spirit I found) are from the HACWN conference.
Learned a lot about his version of the 5 elements of story. He was such a great speaker! Thank you Dan.

I just completed the Illustrate phase of Bandana Buddies – Rascal’s Trip! Now onto Design! I’m working with a fantastic designer in London who’s already come up with some great ideas. So EXCITING to see things coming together!
Now 95% finished with the illustrations – unless I decide to redo one. All that’s left is the two-page map. I’m looking forward to attending two conferences this fall, and working with professionals to get the books ready.
Here’s a snippet from Rascal’s Trip:
Rascal spun around and around, bumping into broken bits of trees in the swirling wind. Closing his eyes, he curled his legs up as tightly as he could and covered his face with his paws. The wind screamed and whistled around him. He covered his ears to block out the unwanted noise.
Suddenly, the wind dropped him. The soft needles and sturdy branches of a young pine tree hugged him as he landed. Dazed, he looked around him, his eyes as wide as saucers to take in his surroundings.
I just made progress on Bandana Buddies – Rascal’s Trip! So far I’m 60% complete on the Illustrate phase. 10 Weeks remain until the deadline. This is a preliminary painting of Jasper in Rascal’s Trip.
