Get to know the person behind the books: me! With familiar examples from books and movies, we will explore the writing process. Every story begins with an idea. What’s important to include in a story? Does the first draft have to be perfect? NO! Like other arts, words paint a picture which takes the reader through an adventure. Writing, like art, takes time and effort. It’s worth every minute.
Expect great communication from me regarding an Author Visit:
A coordinator will meet with me to go over desires, needs, and expectations.
Prior to the visit, each teacher will receive a personalized folder with information about myself, my books.
An appropriate amount of time for the visit depending on the age group. (Younger students 30 minutes, older students 60 minutes.) Printed book order forms will be provided by Chickadee Words for the children to take home to their parents after the visit.
Book order forms and money will be collected by the school. After an agreed-upon deadline, the school will send me the orders, I’ll sign and box up the books, deliver them to the school, and pick up the payment.
Based on the needs of the grade level(s), I partner with your school to provide a relevant presentation that reinforces curriculum standards. I speak to every grade level from kindergarten through high school. May I help you?
