Hootin the owl, Rascal the raccoon, Captain the otter, Nibbler the beaver, Ollie the dog, Feebs the cat, and Kit the fox

Kathy J Perry has written and illustrated this series of five early reader chapter books for kids transitioning from reading picture books to chapter books — basically short chapter books for young readers.

Building character through story, these adorable animal characters from a midwest American farm earn bandanas after they’ve learned some new character quality through trials.

Intended age range from 5-8+, but older kids enjoy the stories and relate to the themes, too.
